Any label that can not only survive, but thrive for a decade deserves the kind of celebration that Leftroom Records has been rolling out in 2015. Amidst a slew of parties and events set to honour a strong ten years, the label is also dropping a compilation that sets the tone for the future.
Leftroom's Ten Year compilation shows off a brand new collaboration between label boss Matt Tolfrey and journeyman Guti. "Infizero" is a track that lives by the strength of its low end, adding an almost eerie vibe through subtle synth work and very techy drum programming. It's one of those early in the night tracks, atmospheric at points, working to set the mood as the party really begins to heat up.As for the title of the song, Tolfrey tells THUMP it all stems from "a BBQ, USA style!!!!!" put on by a friend, Ramon Crespo. Crespo, whose nickname is Infizero was the track's inspiration: "If we would never have met, we wouldn't be here now," says Tolfrey. "Without that meeting, there would be no track. This is a dedication to the passion and love that that this man gives to music on a daily basis."
