The Summer Set Festival is Back, and its Lineup is Insane

Another woodsy camping fest hits the Midwest! Watch out Electric Forest.

In the Ides of August this year, a whole lot of Birkenstock-clad, tie-die coated festie kids will congregate in the woods of Northern Wisconsin for the return of Summer Set Music & Camping Festival. With headliners that include Bassnectar, Wu-Tang Clan, and Big Gigantic, the Midwestern woodland rave seems to have found that perfect sweet spot between heavy bass drops, jamtronica, and good old-fashioned rap. Props to the Summer Set peoples for the fine phase one lineup, which has been expanded to fill out the festival's new EDM Tent with acts like Flying Lotus, RL Grime, and Claude VonStroke. Bye, guitars!

Summer Set will step to Electric Forest, a rural Michigan festival that dominates the Midwestern camping-and-raving scene, as a potential competitor—and it will be interesting to see how they set themselves apart in future seasons. Check the phase one lineup announcements for SSMC below, and get ready to borrow dad's tent for the weekend.
