​Desert Hearts Heroes Mikey Lion and Lee Reynolds Go b2b ON DECK

Nearly three years ago, just outside of San Diego, California, one of the most inspiring stories in current American dance music wriggled into existence: Desert Hearts. At the center of the rowdy crew of weirdos that gives the scene its unique character are two men, Mikey Lion and Lee Reynolds.

Some say Mikey Lion is Lee's son. Others say that Lee is, in fact, Mikey's son and only looks so mature because he is house and techno's Benjamin Button. We're no genealogists around here, but we can confirm that both are masters of a tech-drenched house sound that's bristling with energy and attitude, and now we've got them b2b in one ON DECK. Oh, and it's almost two fucking hours long, so cancel your dinner plans.

Rarely do we let live sets slip their way into ON DECK's catalogue, but the duo's performance at the Kalliope Art Car at Burning Man last month was so special that they've dubbed it their "Father and Son mix," and who are we to say no when two of our favorite selectors gift us such a dusty treasure?

In Mikey's words: "This mix was recorded live at Burning Man 2015 on the Kalliope Art Car. This was easily our favorite set we played at the Burn this year and maybe ever. We knew we were in for some real magic when our entire camp of 65 people mobbed on bikes to deep playa with us in search of the Kalliope super beast. As soon as we got there surrounded by all our best friends in the world, we knew it was on."
