No matter the artist, the paint brush has its own way of leaving behind impressions of their movement. Sometimes you can look at a painting and visualize the motion an artist might have done to make their mark, as in the vibrant abstract paintings of visual artist Jim LePage. Much like artist Donald Martiny, LePage appears to have a fascination with the brush stroke. His compositions look like intimate studies of movement wherein the artist creates a groove that casts paint in a certain direction, like a flag blowing in the wind.On his website, LePage says abstract painting provides a creative escape for him. "I love the exploration of color and texture and how the mix of those can evoke different types of feelings and ideas," he explains. "I experiment with different paints, mediums and techniques and enjoy the surprise that comes from seeing them interact in new ways." These aggressive mergers create chaotic yet serene compositions that would catch the eye of anyone who might walk by them.See more of his paintings below:You can check out more works by Jim LePage on his website.Related:Software Turns Your Trackpad Gestures into Painterly BrushstrokesOil-Injected Gel Makes Incredible 3D PaintingsArtist Grows Pollock-Worthy Digital Paintings with an Algorithm
