BADBADNOTGOOD Supports River Tiber and You Should Too

Where’s my River Tiber crew-neck?

I was first introduced to the work of Toronto native Tommy Paxton-Beesley (aka River Tiber) in November, following the release of his debut EP, The Star Falls. His music immediately struck me as some complex marriage between Bon Iver vocals, BADBADNOTGOOD's composition, and Soulection's more out-there ventures into indie R&B.

Imagine my surprise then when I caught Grammy-nominated Soulection producer, DPAT, sporting a River Tiber crew-neck at his debut live performance in Austin, Texas during SXSW. Just a week later, that same crew-neck made a cheeky cameo in BADBADNOTGOOD's latest video, "Can't Leave The Night". Tommy Paxton-Beesley even played the cello on the debut single from their upcoming release, III.

So what is it exactly about this burgeoning Toronto producer and his band-mates that appeals so much to some of music's most-respected members? Here are all the reasons why I love River Tiber and you should too.

1. They have a store that doesn't suck. It's just a tee, a crew-neck, and a sticker pack with not an abstract shape in sight.

2. They make their own videos and we get to peek into their lives.

3. Their aesthetic suits their sound, unlike so many forced "alternative" trap music producers.

4.   Their multi-instrument EP is produced by one man who expertly blends in elements of electronic production with traditional compositions.

5. They promote their gigs in the least obtrusive way possible and never beg you to come out to their DJ night.

6. They don't post on Facebook. Four posts since January 1? Fuck yeah.

7. Their SoundCloud bio contains as few adjectives as possible.

8. And tweets like this:

presidents choice is the best brand they are on their limited release game like supreme, that black label salted caramel shit oweeee
