Let Epicure Start off your Weekend with “The Friday Shuffle”

This odd and eclectic track is the cure to your weekday blues.

Michigan-based producer and DJ Samuel Peters, better known to the world as Epicure, is a self-proclaimed devotee to "sensuous pleasure and luxurious living." Hailing from Kalazamoo (which is, believe it or not, an actual place, not something ripped from a Dr. Seuss book), Epicure's particular brand of dance music is much like his native city's namesake—odd, eclectic, and really fun to hear aloud.

Epicure's upcoming five-track EP, The Motions, is a hodge-podge of get-your-freak-on dance numbers, and, Gesaffelstein-esque bass track "Kzoo Bounce". Notwithstanding, the aptly named "The Friday Shuffle" is the jewel in the audial crown, opening with a reggae-style vocal sample, "The Friday Shuffle" quickly transitions into a bassline-driven trip through funky disco synths and snapping percussion. If the first half of the song grabs you (and it should), just wait until the trap breakdown near the end of the track hits—it'll have you, ahem, shuffling until the end of the weekend.

You can pick up "The Friday Shuffle" as part of The Motions EP on March 16. Pre-order your copy here.
