Too Hot To Move Too Slow To Dance: On The Beach In The Rain With Broadway Sounds

The calmest, coolest Karaoke video in modern history.

Try not to relax while watching "Summer Rain Dance (quand il pleut de l'amour)" from Broadway Sounds. It's hard work. Much easier to let the waves of sound and the peaceful themes wash over you like a sun shower. This year the Melbourne crew have taken us on a trip across the emotional spectrum, and finishing 2014 in this peaceful paradise feels right. Andrew Diamond Phillips from Broadway Sounds has the full story behind the beat.

"Summer Rain Dance (quand il pleut de l'amour)' came out of a strong love of word jazz, ye-ye, quiet storm, hip hop and radio stations that don't exist anymore. It's a departure from what we have previously released in that whilst we go for pop songs, this is more of a mood piece. It's also another curveball in the Broadway Sounds cannon, which keeps it interesting; and makes the next few songs slated for release a bit harder to pin down. I had put the music together on this real fast, and got malian songstress Ami Doumbia (who was in the 'Booby Trap' clip) to translate and record french vocals over the top of it. She recorded the vocals in a very comfy looking pair of track suit pants. Our video director Tobias Willis and I put a karaoke themed video together, with our friend Natalie Nalesnyik adding the titles. The song lends itself to plenty of slow motion sunset type activities and that's what you get in this clip. It all sounds real simple, and it was! The song and clip turned out to be a lot more than I had envisioned."
