This isn't the first time that we've featured Project Pablo on THUMP and it certainly won't be the last, but that doesn't make this track any less special. "Boat" is the B side to his latest EP titled Basic, the fifteenth release from Vancouver multimedia label, Hybridity. Project Pablo has been somewhat of a poster-child for the house music revival that's been sweeping North America so strongly in recent months (and no, I'm not referring to progressive or whatever people are labeling "deep house" these days). After gaining local fame and international accreditation for his work under the moniker 8prn, he has evolved from ethereal tones and disjointed drums into a glorious interpretation of classic house with an undeniable modern twist. "Boat's" cutaway vocals fall in a similar vein as the EP's bonus cut, "Toothpaste," albeit with a much darker result.
