Police have charged 116 people with possession of illegal drugs and 13 were charged with drug supply at the Listen Out Festival in Sydney's Centennial Parklands on Saturday.

According to News Corp Australia, the charges arrived after two teenage boys suffered suspected drug-related illnesses after taking an unknown substance on a private bus to the festival. They were taken to a local hospital in serious condition. Three additional people were taken to the hospital from the festival with suspected drug-related medical issues.

In a statement, Superintendent Karen McCarthy of the New South Wales police said, "People need to realize that high-visibility police operations are par for the course at major music festivals. If you bring illicit drugs to these events, chances are you will be caught."

In addition to the drug charges, three people were charged with assault and six people were charged with resisting police, among other arrests.

Listen Out Festival anticipated around 25,000 people in attendance for the event. Scheduled performers included Baauer and Claptone.
