Along with contemporaries like Nils Frahm and Jon Hopkins' more plaintive work, two-piece Icelandic outfit, Kiasmos are known for melding classical, ambient-tinged melodies with immersive electronic sounds that massage your mind and body in blissful tandem. Through their productions and acclaimed live shows, the duo explores a variety of layered instrumentation that's sound-design at its very finest; subtle droplets of bass slowly evolve into powerful techno thuds, while minimal strings float through air to remain delicacy throughout.Tomorrow, the pair will be performing a rare NYC set at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, where in addition to tracks from their self-titled debut album from 2014 (on Erased Tapes Records), they'll be performing songs off their recent Swept and Looped EPs from late last year. In anticipation of tomorrow night's gig, the duo of Ólafur Arnalds & Janus Rasmussen have shared a lovely music video to their latest EP track "Drawn"—a calming, minimal melody that encapsulates their deeply thought-provoking style.A perfect visual compliment to the track's meditative nature, the video features a variety of shapeshifting trees, whose leaves gently fall, rise, and twirly in syncopation with the tracks evolving crescendos. "We've been working with Máni Sigfússon on our live visuals since the beginning of Kiasmos, says the duo. "Our idea for this particular one was to remove the visuals from the usual one-shot slow motion which has been our concept so far, and expand into a more three-dimensional yet surreal world.
