Watch the Mesmerizing, Sunlight-Dappled Video for Bing & Ruth's New Single "Rails"

The video is for the plaintive, orchestral lead single off their forthcoming album, 'City Lake,' for RVNG Intl.

Atmospheric instrumental music is at its most interesting when it's able to take you out of your present dimension and let you live in a different kind of time, making an opening for a novel sense of texture or duration. This is demonstrated wonderfully on the lead single "Rails" from Bing And Ruth's forthcoming album City Lake, their second album after last year's Tomorrow Was The Golden Age for RVNG Intl.

While on a first listen the plaintive and orchestral presentation might seem like something you could write off for being too familiar, it becomes clear with the spectral, affecting crescendo that the track is very genuinely inspired. The sunlight-dappled video directed by Seba Cros doesn't hurt anything either, playing with gestures of light and shadow in its documentation of a train journey spent lost in thought, or captivated by the surrounding pastoral landscape.

Check it out above, and be sure to get a copy of City Lake when it's out November 13.
