Suara, That Friskiest of Spanish Felines, Releases Another Stellar Remix EP

Fresh outta Barcelona, Coyu's label drops one belter of a release after another.

Barcelona-based label Suara has risen to the top of the house game over the past couple of years thanks to the steely leadership of fearless, bearded, cat-in-chief, Coyu. Their "Big Cat Remixed" series has already enjoyed stellar submissions from the likes of Doorly, Bontan, and Harry "Choo Choo" Ramirez. Fresh from the label's WMC pool party and the honor of being awarded Resident Advisor's 'Most Charted Label of the Year' for the second annum running, The Big Cat is back with round three of its remix series. The third iteration the release series finds Coyu and Ramiro Lopez's classy club tune "Yeah" being given the quintessential Toolroom wash by the UK Label's star man Mark Knight. It's a low-end leaning shuffler with heady doses of house both Chicago and acid.

The second tune on the release is like 6 degrees of house music. It's the Mendo remix of the Coyu edit of Charles Ramirez and Baum's "Fire Alarm," to be exact. The tune is upfront, but held together by a minimalist ethos, and it steams along with a measured sense of confidence as various samples drop in and out of the mix.

Last on the EP is the first feline of the whole squad, Coyu himself, dropping "Balls" and enjoying a fine remix from Dosem that delves the furthest into techy territory as it glides along a slightly darker aesthetic. That's Suara making it 3 out of 3 on stellar remix EPs.
