Oscar-winning composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have scored Peter Berg's latest film Patriots Day, about the Boston Marathon bombing of 2013.

In recent interview with Yahoo, the Nine Inch Nails founder revealed that the duo composed 114 total minutes of music for the movie, with the greatest challenge being a tight three-month work schedule.

"We hadn't done a film that was experiential like this, and we'd never taken on any subject matter of this nature," said Reznor. "And that was part of the appeal. We wondered if we could work inside a big Hollywood picture like this, but color outside the lines in terms of what might be expected, and I think ultimately we succeeded."

Previously, the duo have exclusively worked with director David Fincher on films including The Social Network, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and Gone Girl. In December, Reznor announced that Ross is now an official member of Nine Inch Nails, and shared a new single from the group, "Burning Bright (Field on Fire)."
