Alejandro Paz's Brawny Chilean Techno Will Make You Party Harder

Stream the techno don's 'Váyanse' EP on Sanfuentes, with Mijo and Sanfuentes remixes on the flip.

Chilean techno don Alejandro Paz's next release arrives on Sanfuentes Records this week. The tough-as-shit EP, titled Váyanse (translation: get out), explodes with jacking grooves and dark textures that nod towards EBM and post-punk influences. Label boss Sanfuentes and rising techno star Mijo contribute two remixes on the flipside.

When we got in touch with Paz, he informed us that he was "sitting in my living room, watching the night coming from the Andes," which honestly sounds chill as fuck. The title of his EP, Paz explains, is kind of a joke—"it just feels good to say to all these people watching their telephones in the club, or trying to tell you how you should do your work, 'go away!'" Paz compliments Mijo's remix as "very fun," adding that he loves the simplicity of Sanfuentes' remix, and his "the capacity to leave just the important things."

Paz, on the other hand, is more interested in the idea of contrasting harmony and dissonance. "I'm obsessed with dissonance as a way to build new feelings that fit with my life," he says.
