It's a family affair on Tiga's new release—the remix pack of "100" with longtime collaborator Boys Noize. Thomas Von Party, the Turbo Recording A&R and Tiga's younger brother, took a swing at "100" and for lack of a better cliché—hit it out of the park.Self-described as "a bit schiz-y," his rework demonstrates truly how much capacity for manipulation any piece of music holds—so long as you douse it in acid. "This mix turned out pretty mental!" says Von Party. "I started out simply by wanting to make a less aggro version than the original, which is pretty pounding. But I certainly didn't keep it simple."Midway, Von Party lures the original tempo into a dreamlike and delightfully cheesy arpeggio melody. While holding it in a hypnotized state, it crescendos only slightly—shocking the hell out of you when he catapults it into a slamming acid house breakdown. Or as he calls it, "some pretty weird brain-dance.""I wanted a funky, loose, hip-housey acid house vibe," says Von Party. "I had the idea of making a big breakdown that started from the lyric 'dreams on a movie screen,' so I made that big, emo, hands-in-the-air EDM moment. I always loved cheesy breaks, what can I say?"
