Released in October on Warp Records, Brixton-born producer and rapper GAIKA's SPAGHETTO is one of the most audacious EPs of the year, featuring eight tracks which see him merging diverse influences including industrial-tinged grime, lovers rock reggae, and R&B.Today he's shared a new video for the Jam City co-produced standout "Glad We Found It," directed by Atlanta rapper and Awful Records ringleader Father. The Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?-inspired clip follows the self-described "ghetto futurist" as he wanders a technicolored forest, eventually meeting a trio of river sirens."GAIKA and I first met in Oslo last winter at a music festival. When he reached out to get involved in the project I was instantly intrigued, the track presented an opportunity to operate outside the traditional confines of a 'rap' music video - providing a lot of wiggle room for the treatment. GAIKA isn't your conventional rap/urban artist, he actively challenges the status quo; I wanted the visual to mirror that," said Father in a press release."We wanted to avoid a typical narrative structure, and focus on mimicking the dark and haunting tone of the track itself visually. Combined with the use of the female siren characters and the open environment of the Georgia woods, we wanted to express themes of isolation, internal struggle, and volatile relationships."Watch it above and check out GAIKA's upcoming shows here.Max Mertens is on Twitter.
