Greco Roman's Secret Weapon George T's Delivered the Goods on this Exclusive Mix

The Edinburgh selector has dusted off some tapes and come through with heady hour-long session.

George Demure might look like a geography teacher in a poorly received, scrapped after three episodes mid-90s BBC sitcom, but Greco Roman's secret weapon is more interested in Frankie Knuckles than fault-block mountains. Edinburgh born Demure, known to his fans and the PRS man as George T, was one of the founders of the city's revered Tribal Funktion clubnight, which ran from 1991-1994 and saw George share the decks with the likes of Gemini, DJ Sneak, and Romanthony.

He zipped down the motorways in the early years of the 00s and found himself producing and releasing records out of London. Cut forward to 2014 and he's working in the same studio as Hot Chip main man Joe Goddard. Talk turned to the halcyon days of the 90s, and Demure was asked to DJ at XOYO as part of Goddard's 2 Bears takeover.

As these things sometimes go, it turned out that Demure had a stash of unheard, unreleased DATs tucked away in an attic somewhere. Eventually Goddard and JeanGa Becker persuaded him to dust the tapes off. They've just been released on vinyl on Goddard's own Greco Roman imprint.

To celebrate, George has put this juicy, bouncy, beatific mix together for us, and it's perfect for the journey home tonight. Lock in.
