Premiere a Heady Track From Phantasy's Latest Signing, Kamera

"Prince Valium" is the hypnotic and tense first taste of the label's newest face.

We are big fans of Erol Alkan's label Phantasy here at THUMP, so we take any news of a new signing as a signal of something to get excited about. Their output since founding in 2007 has featured some ground-breaking (and floor-filling names) who have all helped mark out a strong run of bold and celebrated releases for the imprint. With Kamera, it looks like they have done it again.

THUMP are really pleased to be premiering "Prince Valium", the heady first track from Kamera's upcoming EP, Arc. It is a hypnotic and taut track, relying on slow simmering builds and brief promises of chaos, before gradually dissipating into the fuzz of the floor. Kamera, has said that the track was constructed between rural Yorkshire and the wintry Majorca sunshine, as is reflected in the erratic temperature of the track. What this track indicates, more than anything, is an artists unafraid to experiment when it comes to his influences and recording process.

Arc is out now on Phantasy and is available through Juno or iTunes.

Kamera is on Facebook/Twitter/Soundcloud.
