Slap Yourself Silly with Felix Dickinson's Brand New "Flip Flop Licker"

If I had to put together a list of the three worst types of shoe in the world it'd look something like this:

3. Running trainers.

2. Those strange shoes that dads decide to wear on holiday that look like a pair of brouges fucked a tarte tatin.

1. Flip flops.

Flip flops are fucking awful, aren't they? They look terrible, and sound even worse. Flip flops are vile little things and I'd probably be a lot happier as a person if they'd never been invented. One man who clearly doesn't mind flip flops is UK disco luminary Felix Dickinson who's decided to dedicate his upcoming release on Cynic Music to the plastic monstrosities.

Because I like Felix's work, I've decided to overlook my distrust of the dreaded slip on and listen to the 12" without prejudice. I'm glad I did because "Flip Flop Licker" is exactly the kind of slinky, acid-tinged, chunky disco-house that sounds best at this time of year. In fact, I'm pretty certain that Dickinson's been in communique with the weather overlords to ensure that the release coincides nicely with this mini-heatwave we're currently sweating through.
