Trevino Gives Newcomer Tecture's Heavy-Duty "Lord of Mech" a Swaggering Rework

Berlin-based imprint BTAIM comes through with its first release since 2013.
Tecture.

Berlin-based imprint BTAIM have been quiet now since their last release in 2013—which for a label associated with decidedly loud, clanking techno is not a good way to stay. Thankfully, for fans of all things Teutonic, they are back on thrilling form with a heavy-duty release from newcomer Tecture.

The three-track 12" features two originals from Tecture—"How To Open Prime Time" and "Lord of Mech"—both precision engineered for that 4am sweet-spot. There's also a head-turning remix from techno don Trevino, which we are premiering here today. Trevino's rework, which you can hear below, swallows the energy of the original "Lord of Mech," submerging it in decidedly grimey UK flavours. Injecting an un-ignorable swagger into the relentless drive of the source material, Trevino bridges the gaps between Berliner techno and drum & bass, if not in BPM then in tone. Make a note of it now, because it's the sort of secret weapon that will pop up in sets everywhere over the next few months.

Listen to Trevino's remix below.
