We Don't Know Who Troll Gaze Is but They've Just Put out the Biggest Track of 2015

What's a Girl 2 Do about Troll Gaze?

Trundling round SoundCloud on a Friday afternoon is up there with eating chips, watching In Bed with Chris Needham and reading old issues of N64 magazine in my list of favourite things to do. As the working week slowly grinds to a halt and we get closer to that magic moment when someone pipes up with the magic words ("Red Stripe, anyone?") it doesn't get better than aimlessly listening to snippets of teflon coated techno, blitzing from a Teki Latex mix to a Greg Wilson edit, unearthing treasures to tweet about once and never again. It's great. What's even better is coming across something that's totally unknown, totally without context, totally fucking brilliant. "What's a Girl 2 Do" by the obliquely named Troll Gaze is just that.

I don't know who Troll Gaze is, what Troll Gaze is, what Troll Gaze is about. I don't know if it's animal, vegatable or mineral. What I do know is, is that "What's a Girl 2 Do" is an absolute fucking pumper that's taken the soon-to-be-reissued-on-Dekmantel-because-the-original-was-going-for-over-a-hundred-quid-end-of-the-night-classic original by Dutch producer Bas Bron, under the Fatima Yamaha moniker, and transformed it from a wispily melancholy weeper into a genuine hands-in-the-air party track. It's "Needin' U" big , "Inspector Norse", hell, it's "Music Sounds Better With You" big.
