THUMP's Official Guide to the Best Parties of Coachella Season 2016

We've collected all the most exciting desert hangs in one place so you don't have to.

Coachella has become almost as well known for its sidepiece parties as it is for the main event. With so much activity going on in the desert both weekends, we're bringing you our short list of the best day parties and after-parties that take place during the festival. Make sure you have plenty of room in your trunks for gift bags, because where you're going, there will be endless sponsored swag.

1. Vestal Village

This 72-hour party and "consciousness expanding experience" is hosted on a private property at a secret location in Palm Springs. The party purports to be invite-only but limited guestlist is available. The lineup is kept secret until day of, but past performances have included Robert DeLong, Shiny Toy Guns, Boots Electric, UZ and Posso. Watch for information here.

Secret desert location, April 15-17.

2. Base Camp

This off-site camping experience and self-described "art compound" sits on a 40-acre ranch in Indio boasting resort-like amenities for all of you unsuited to the indignities of camping-festival-life. The ultimate glamping experience promises music, a desert beach, swimming pool, pop-up restaurant, lake, and lakeside cabanas plus craft cocktail bars, "room service," massage, yoga classes, and, most importantly, showers and transportation to and from Coachella.

Lago Vista Ranch, April 14-18 and 21-25. Make a reservation here.

3. NYLON'S Midnight Garden Party and Neon Carnival

NYLON's infamous Midnight Garden Party returns the first Friday of Coachella Weekend 1 at a private estate. Saturday night marks the Neon Carnival, also at a private estate near the Coachella grounds, and finally the weekend ends with a poolside brunch starting at noon on Sunday. Celebs spotted last year include Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, so you know the swag is top shelf. These events are invite-only, but if you're clever, which we know you are, we're certain you'll snag an invite.

April 15-17, Location TBD. Watch Nylon for RSVP info.

4. Desert Gold 2016

While everyone's raging on the Polo Fields, Desert Gold will be "ushering an oasis of meditation and celestial beatmaking" for all you deep web hippies out there. With special events hosted by Moog, The David Lynch Foundation, and more, this is definitely going to be a very unique scene.

5. Culture Collide 2016

This is a very rare open RSVP opportunity for a free party the Thursday eve before Coachella begins. This one touts itself as being "Not A Pool Party," and previous performers have included Elliphant, Miami Horror, and more. Besides, it's an El Nino year, so you're already wet, right?

Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs, April 14. RSVP here and stay tuned for a potential Weekend 2 announcement.

6. KROQ House

Every year KROQ rents a massive estate in the desert and parties with tons of acts playing at the fest. Past performances include Dillon Francis, Tame Impala, Martin Garrix and more. Isn't this supposed to be a rock station? Guess everyone's on the EDM train these days.

Private estate in Palm Desert, April 15-17 & April 22-24. Allegedly invite-only, but watch KROQ for RSVP info.

7. Pandora's Indio Invasion

Streaming giant Pandora returns to Indio for the third installment of their Coachella shindig with DJ sets from Prince Fox and FM radio indie-darlings Walk The Moon, at a pool party, with free food (is this heaven?). Taking place Saturday April 16th from 1-4 pm, this is one of the few Coachella parties with an open RSVP for all 21+ fans.

Join the Pandora Indio Invasion here and don't forget your protective helmet.
