Los Angeles beat scene stalwart Alfred Darlington, aka Daedelus, has announced a new album, Labyrinths, and shared its title track.

The LP, which follows his 2015 collaborative album with Kneebody, Kneedelus, is due to arrive on October 28 via the producer's own Magical Properties imprint. A press release describes Labyrinths as "twisting, complex, and rhizomatic," adding that it is "a response and critique of the current state of EDM, in which Daedelus attempts to answer his own questions with rather than cynicism using the labyrinth metaphor."

The album contains 12 tracks, many of them collaborations with fellow SoCal artists including Seven Davis Jr., Teebs, Amir Yaghmai of alt-pop duo Jogger, soul-folk singer Moses Sumney, rapper Busdriver and even Daedelus's own wife, Laura Darlington.

"I'm so proud of the cast of collaborators composed for this album," he wrote upon sharing the news. "Some I've had the honor of working with for multiple albums, across long arcs…others are shocking new talents that I'm honored to present here… and then there are the players, instruments enlisted to make this a radically different-sounding record at times."

He went on to describe the title track as "beats skittering across our ever-expanding scene."
