Hackney nightclub Shapes has shut down following the night club's reported actions after rape allegations from March of this year. Police called for the venue to be shut down following a town hall meeting on July 26. Earlier, according to reports, police called for a license review when the club failed to provide CCTV footage upon request. However, the club has denied these claims. Owner Seb Glover has surrendered the club's license.

According to FACT, the alleged attack took place during Kinky Salon London, a private event that aims to foster a safe space for guests to socialize and participate in consensual sex and BDSM activities. Recent club performers include Lust for Youth and Throwing Shade.

A spokeswoman for the club states their closure is related to their lease, which ends July 31. In a statement to FACT, Glover claims the police have done more to hinder the investigation than what has been reported.
