Crom & Thanh ft. Jinadu - "Freedom Call" [OFF Recordings]

Berlin-based Andre Crom, fresh from debuting the new sound of his OFF Recordings label, has paired with frequent collaborator Chi Thanh and Janidu on the brooding "Freedom Call." It's another winner from a fruitful collaborative pair, but when you bring together a guy who runs one of club music's most revered labels with a production whiz who has worked with everyone from Britney Spears to Booka Shade, what do you expect?

Liar - "9 AD" [Infinite Machine]

Tessier-Ashpool head Liar is best known around these parts for producing tunes with a hefty sense of darkness to them, but Genesis Dubs, his upcoming EP on Montreal label Infinite Machine, finds him exploring everything from jungle to beat music. "9 AD" is an ethereal swirler of a tune. It's still challenging – Liar always is – but it'll swoon you to a happer place in the process.

Cobblestone Jazz - "Northern Lights"

Cobblestone Jazz is back from a three year hiatus with a sunrise ready number on Itiswhatitis Recordings. "Northern Lights" is a sparse beautiful number with modular synth blups reverberating into each other, never quite rounding a full melody. As with their early 2000s releases, the Canadians continue to show they have a broad range and we're very much looking forward to more from them.

Codes ft. Janelle Crolle - "We Get Crazy" (J. Paul Getto remix)

Holy Duck Sauce, J. Paul Getto's remix of "We Get Crazy" is all old-school, funky house vibes. The bassline, is, y'know, an actual bass and the song slaps with energy. Getto's affiliation with the likes of Armand van Helden and Todd Terry via X-Mix Productions are clearly explained through the track, as his handle on the funk is undeniable.

REZZ - "Methodology

20-year old bedroom producer REZZ is already setting SoundCloud alight on nothing but the strength of her tunes alone. A self-described production obsessive, her is dark, grooving techno that is overflowing with creativity and style. Definitely keep your eye on this one. Just don't call her "Girlsaffelstein."

NGHT DRPS - "Comin In"

Hey it's not all techno and deep house in Berlin. Emerging producer NGHT DRPS soon-to-be-released Slippin EP is full of laid-back appropriations of bass music vibes, as represented pristinely by "Comin In," a track that references dubstep, breaks, and trap, while keeping affairs groovy and chill. Play it quietly and it's good for hanging out, play it loudly and it'll get the dancefloor going.

DRILL DRILL - "A_o" [Don't Die at Work]

Upstart Hamburg act DRILL DRILL's first release on Los Angeles label Don't Die at Work is some glitchy madness somewhere between lazer bass and trap. It brings the bassweight while managing to keep things chill. When those hip-hop horns kick in, you realize these two have far too much West Coast swag for a couple of Germans.
