Whether it's for playing out at a club or listening at home, DJs and producers typically have an encyclopedic hoard of music, new and old. In The Last Record, they tell us about the last three songs or albums they've purchased, and why these were important additions to their music collection. This week, we spoke with Subb-an (aka Ashique Subhan), the Birmingham-born, Berlin-based producer and co-founder of One Records. Subb-an's latest 12" release is currently out on vinyl and will be released digitally soon.
This was a recent buy off Discogs. I'm a big fan of the early Misc. stuff, especially this release. I bought this with the intention to play it out. It has a great energy for that time of morning when the sun's coming up.Mid-90s rave … love it! Again, I purchased this with the intention to play it out as you can most likely hear its proper club tackle. It doesn't hold back with rave-y stabs, strings and snares! There's a few other good records on this label from the mid-90s, I picked this one up from The Ghost in Berlin.

Who's not a fan of The Rolling Stones!? I'm a huge one and I feel this has a fair amount of my favorite Rolling Stones tracks on it. I always enjoy collecting music unexpectedly and this was a nice purchase from around the corner of my Berlin apartment. The guy has a small stall set up in Boxhagener Platz every Saturday with the farmers market right next door.
