Unsound 2016 Announces First Acts Including Moritz von Oswald, Matmos, and More

The Kraków festival takes place October 16-23, and will feature performances from Optimo, Babyfather, and others.

Poland's Unsound Festival has announced the first round of artists set to play its 2016 edition, which will take place from October 16-23 in Kraków and be focused on the theme of "Dislocation."

Among the biggest acts included are Basic Channel co-founder Moritz von Oswald—who will play a special set with the Kyrgyz band Ordo Sakhna—and Baltimore duo Matmos, who will do a performance of American composer Robert Ashley's "Perfect Lives" with Sinfonietta Cracovia.

J.D. Twitch, aka Optimo, will do a DJ set dedicated to the work of Manchester producer Muslimgauze, while PC Music affiliate Felicita will perform a new commissioned work in collaboration with traditional Polish dancers. Dean Blunt's Babyfather project, electronic composer Roly Porter, and London artist Gaika are also set to make appearances.

Tickets for the festival went on sale today, the Toronto edition takes place June 10-11, and feature Sunn O))), Tim Hecker, The Bug, and more.
