HANN's Litefeet Anthem "Champion Sound" Will Make It Showtime All the Time

This NYC production team is working day and night to take their movement beyond the sliding doors of the L train.

Litefeet, the style of energetic, largely percussive dance music that soundtracks the infamous 'showtime' routines you see on the subway, is evolving from a mere grassroots sect of NYC dance culture, to a legitimate sub-genre of electronic music. A lot of this is due to the fact that the producers behind the genre, production teams like HANN, are finally getting the exposure they deserve, being taken seriously not just as dancers, but music makers. HANN, which consists of two 18 year olds, Chris Designs and Lil' Live, both known for providing beats for a variety of litefeet dance crew around the city, are working to legitimize their sound through actual releases, like their Unknown Genre EP which drops this week. The release showcases both the movement's loose and carefree style, with also an attention to detail that flexes their skills as producers and mixers. Their track "Champion Sound," which appears on the EP, was made with the vision of an actual litefeet battle in mind, where dancers from opposing crews face off.

"We envision "Champion Sound" as entrance theme music. When fighters walk into the arena, they play a song that hypes them up and tells everyone in attendance that they're just as powerful as their music," says Chris Designs & Lil Live, the two producers that make up HANN.
