Denver based modular synthesist Lee Evans, aka Hippies Wearing Muzzles, has shared the soothingly swirling title track off his forthcoming Animist Pools EP for NYC label Human Pitch. Made up of an ecology of pattering trickles, brightly interjecting chimes, and an evolving fog of delay, it evokes a self-contained, fecund biosphere. Evans' work here feels alive, conjuring a sense of intimacy with microorganisms in active exchange with one another.

"I stuck to an audio palette with references to the natural world," said the artist to THUMP over email. "There are multiple elements represented within the track and these elements come to life and combine to create an environment of sorts. It's like a more musical version of a field recording."

Animist Pools will be out on July 1 and is available for pre-order on Bandcamp.
