Image Man Serves up Some Bewitchingly Dazed Lo-Fi House On "Baby"

His forthcoming 12" will be the inaugural release for Queens-based label Palmetto Arts.

We don't know much about Image Man, but we do know that he's based in New York, and that his upcoming "Baby" 12" is the inaugural release from Queens-based label Palmetto Arts. A mock newspaper clipping on their site advertising the record also tells us that Eric Copeland—known both for his solo productions and his work with experimental group Black Dice—thinks "It sounds like fun," which is definitely not the worst recommendation a listening experience can have.

We've got the single's eponymous track streaming below, and it's a beautifully goopy bit of lo-fi house, served up slow, dazed, and soulful. Image Man was upfront with THUMP via email about there being no hidden messages on the record, explaining, "I was just trying to create music that I had fun jamming. A couple of those songs have been around for about a year, but these are more updated versions." Sometimes getting right to the point is the best plan of action. Be sure to get the record when it's out December 11.
