The Rapture DJs throw down a springtime session that will have you shaking like a Polaroid picture.

If you fancied yourself a punk, indie, post-punk, or indie-dance-post-rock kid during the mid to late-2000s, you sure as hell remember New York City outfit The Rapture. The group who caught heavy acclaim throughout their windy career with albums like Echoes (released on DFA), and late-decade dance tracks like "How Deep Is Your Love," helping to place them at the forefront of those merging punk with electronic dance sounds. Sadly since 2014, the group has put new music and touring on hold and is currently on an "indefinite hiatus." (We hope they come back to our lives just as much as you do).

Since that day however, group members Vito Roccoforte and Gabriel Andruzzi, who held down the outfit's drums, sax, and percussion efforts, have continued to keep the The Rapture's flame burning (and grooving) bright with DJ and production work under the name Vito & Druzzi. Check out their brand new edit below, a touch of The Jungle Brothers' 1989 hip-hop beat "Beyond This World," which is available for free download.

Currently based in Brooklyn, and with a home on local house and techno imprint Throne Of Blood, the duo succeeds in holding on to part of The Rapture's spinal fluid, while making sure to inject a dose of club-ready flavor that will make you move and shake.

Just in time for spring, and as a preview of sorts for their forthcoming summer EP for their label, the guys have thrown together a MIXED BY for our series. It's packed deep with many of their rocking edits, as well as some tracks from friends and artists who have inspired them through their career.
