Poptronica Emperor Penguin Prison Returns With New Album, Drops Hints in This Mix

Get ready for a one-way trip to paradise.

When it comes to pop-infused dance music, names like Penguin Prison reign supreme. Since the release of his debut self-titled album under the moniker, Christopher Glover has maintained emperor status with a pleasurable mishmash of original vocals, sunny nu-disco, and a ton of other sonics that will make you grin. His live show is also not to be missed, and recently he brought his talents to Coachella.

His follow up album for Downtown Records, Lost in New York, hits shelves today, May 4. To help get everyone's ears probably lubricated for his new long-player (which packs collaborations with other crossover talents Oliver, RAC, and MNDR), Glover's thrown together a guest mix. It's pretty much like someone stuffed the entirety of the sun's rays into an auditory time capsule of good vibes.

"When I DJ I gravitate towards a sound that is mainly from the 1970's, and I think in this mix the edits of old disco records blend together pretty seamlessly with the songs I included from my new album. Whether I perform as a DJ or with a live band my goal is always to get to that elusive place where you feel that the moment you are in is the best place in the world."

So hit play on this puppy, and you'll quickly find yourself in paradise. When your co-workers eventually ask why you're smiling on a Monday, just unplug those headphones and turn it all the way up.
