Roly Porter's "4101" May Be the Most Cataclysmic Track Of the Year

From the LP Third Law due January 22 from Tri Angle

Roly Porter, formerly of the dubstep duo Vex'd, is due release his third solo album Third Law with the bewitched electronic label Tri Angle. In recent years, the former experimental dance producer has emigrated his talents to film score composition, and the influence shows. The lead single "4101," a tense build-up of apprenhensive choral moans and punishing busts of distortion, underlines his stated declaration to "come to terms with his goal of leaving dance music as it is, [and being] free to explore ideas of rhythm, bass, sound design … without having to shape any of these elements to fit preconceived ideas or rules." Listen to it below.
