Oh his new single "Hive / Mind," South London producer Suda (formerly known as Sudanim) blends spellbinding harp orchestration, low-frequency bass, ambient feedback, and smashed glass sound effects into a five-minute mind-bender. "Hive / Mind" is the fourth track from the artist's upcoming EP Hives, out on March 10th from his label Her Records.

Hives is the first solo release from Suda since 2014's thumping "Pleasure Flood / Abondance." Its six tracks deliver both introspection and explosive energy, demonstrating the producer's skill at mixing cerebral elements with body music. "Hive / Mind" walks the line between mental and physical, a two-part meditation on repeated mistakes.

"In 'Hive', it feels good. Everything is easy, despite lurches of discomfort; tiny existential crises within the high," said Suda in an email to THUMP. "'Mind' interrupts sharply and the real world sounds around you become part of the transition into creeping anxiety. In the end it's in vain and the piece concludes neutrally and separately. Nothing develops, nothing changes."

In addition to today's release of "Hive / Mind," Suda has shared the track "Idiopath" from "Hives," and the whole EP will be availalbe on March 10th over at Her Records.
