Suol Man and Soul Man, Till Von Sein Brings R&B to Berlin House

Alongside labelmates Fritz Kalkbrenner and Daniel Bortz, Berlin-based Till Von Sein aims for a take on house that infuses 4x4 beats with organically-trained musical elements and themes drawn from classic R&B and soul. That's part of the reason we've been calling Till 'The Suol Man,' around here while blasting his hour-long debut guest mix for THUMP.

Sure, you'll find some techno elements here and there, but you're as likely to find a maraca or a cowbell as you are to find a moody synth arpeggio and his selections include Rampa, Nick Monaco, KiNK, Kerri Chandler, Kill Frenzy, and "The Manifest," one of his own tunes off of his upcoming album Precious, released May 22.

Von Sein, who just performed at The Do Lab at Coachella, is in the midst of a German tour in advance of the release of Precious. Pre-order the record here.
