The Horrorist's Healthgoth Mix is All EBM, No EDM

Ride the German new wave with classics from the Electronic Body Music era.

The first two editions of THUMP's Healthgoth mix series have been classy affairs as both DMC champ DJ Shiftee and Washington, DC scene leader Tittsworth championed the underground from across the spectrum in their selections.

For our third edition, New York dance-punk stalwart The Horrorist delves deep into new wave music and EBM, with a focus on punk-edged, early-tech dance music from Germany in particular.

The Things to Come Records boss opens up with "new German wave" progenitors Der Plan, makes stops everywhere from pop to industrial to techno, before crescendoing with influential UK act Nitzer Ebb's "Murderous" and closing with the swirled-out synth-pop of Hymn's "Danger."

This mix could be considered an education in EBM, one of the most influential and organic scenes and eras in dance.
