Back in January, LA-based label and blog The Astral Plane unveiled its debut solo release in Switzerland-based producer SHALT's Acheron EP, which took an almost philosophical approach to speculating on the promise of artificial life extension by means of turgid, concussive beats. There's a definite onslaught aspect to her work here, suggestive of the kinds of aggression one might encounter in noise or power electronics genres, but it's tightly defined and compartmentalized within a concise club framework, which adds an element of lift which really goes a long way. The artist spoke to THUMP about the track via email: "Remixing tracks, especially the ones that inspire me sonically, allow me to mess up the original and sort the elements anew," she said. Late last month, Ziúr signed to Lara Rix-Martin's label Objects Limited for the Deeform EP, marking the first vinyl release on the label; that followed her debut Taiga EP on Infinite Machine earlier in the year.

Acheron Remixed is available for preorder and will be out on August 26, also including reworks from NON affiliate Moro, Pan/Janus regular M.E.S.H., and San Francisco producer Kid Smpl.
