KNTRLR's New Video is Shrouded in Psychedelic Mystery

Brash electro-rock for your Tuesday's sensory overload.

There's not a whole lot we know about KNTRLR, a NYC-via-NorCal based live-electronic duo. Their Facebook 'about' section wasn't overly helpful and mainly described their affinity for Russian's bathhouses, David Lee Roth and drinking in sweaty Bushwick basements. Come on guys, who doesn't love those things? Instead of laying it down on virtual paper, the pair known only as Charles and Michael are choosing to let their music do the talking for them. Or in this case, a haunting, majorly trippy video to their track "The Great Filter," which you can gaze at in awe above.

The song itself seems to be centered around themes of loneliness, lost hope, and ambition. The title , which makes a bit more sense after viewing the video (a sensory overload of psychedelic scenes) pertains to the greatest filter we all use to view the world, I.E—our own eyeballs.

Musically, the track is as jumbled and overwhelming as the visuals themselves, being led by crashing drums, piercing synths and an allotment of electro-rock sounds.

Something tells us they'll be a lot more to come from the KNTRLR guys—we'll be keeping our own great filters opened wide to the skies (and interwebs) in the meantime.

KNTRLR is on Facebook.
