Most of the tunage Tessier-Ashpool boss Liar is associated with is so dark that it'd give Beelzebub himself a chubby, so when we got our hands on the video for "Pygmalion," a spacey, feelsy beat tune with lyrics like "You're beautiful, a symphony," that may or may not be Justin Timberlake samples, we were more than intrigued. Has the Romanian badman fallen in love and gotten in touch with his emotional side? Has Montreal's icey winter warmed in the glow of Valentine's day?The video itself, animated by Radu C. Pop and starring Madelince Chilici and Alin Stan, is a vaguely NSFW animated tale of two lovers canoodling and cavorting about a black space, engaging in a romantic power struggle that we're sure is somehow definitive of the entirety of human romance. In stark contrast to much of T-A's output, the whole affair is a little bit…touching. Either way, the video had our dark hearts swelling with a muted joy.
