First noted in the dance community after early collaborations with now-essential bass droppers Zeds Dead, Canadian MC Omar LinX has formed an identity all his own as he takes on the daunting creative task of fusing rock, rap and dance music into one vision. Never is this realized more clearly than on his new tune "The Wild." Produced by Fytch and Kushberry, the track lays heavy guitar chuggery over UK bass beats while LinX's growls his rhymes atop.The animated video for "The Wild," directed by Peter Huang, is a highlight reel of the juxtaposition between violence and beauty. Imagery of riots and war are played out through striking animations that give way to scenes of creation and nature.Huang explains his directorial vision: "The Wild' is a visual essay, semi-inspired by films like Baraka. I was really intrigued by how the film, through editing and structure, can wordlessly present a philosophical point of view. I attempted something similar with Omar's video, basing it around ideas of violence and its relation to the natural world.
