Music Doesn't Get Any Deeper Than Akkord's New EP

Check out the latest Akkord EP for fabric's Houndstooth label.

Akkord has reached rock bottom. We say that not because they've made a record that couldn't be any worse, but because we can't imagine music sounding any deeper than the duo's forthcoming EP for Houndstooth. The untitled record, known simply by its catalog number, HTH020, is the latest in a series of scorching releases from Houndstooth, the outpost associated with the London megaclub fabric—so far this year, the label has unleashed killer material from the likes of Throwing Snow and Call Super. This one features four cavernous, bass-heavy broken rhythms inflected with twitchy breaks and blankets of low end we imagine would shake dust from the walls in Berghain. Check out HTH20 in the player below, just under a week before it's release on June 16.
