Converse Are Bringing Mix Lab Master Classes and a Recording Studio to Peckham

They’re taking over a creative space for ten weeks with a bunch of artists.

Increasingly, it’s impossible to do exciting things without rinsing your paycheque. If you’re going out; you’ll spend a buttload on drinks, taxis, and next-day hangover food. If you’re going to the cinema; you’ll spend at least four times the amount it cost ten years ago. Freddos, 2 litre bottles of Strongbow, everything; it’s all really expensive.

Thankfully, Converse – the iconic footwear brand that people have worn for decades – will be putting on a bunch of free events for the next ten weeks. This is great because (A) you’ll only have to pay for a bus ride to go and (B) obviously the things they’ve planned are amazing.

The CONS Project has previously been held in Warsaw, Belgrade, New York and Los Angeles and this time round it’s the Copeland Gallery in Peckham that will be blessed. The CONS Project London kicks off with a bunch of Inspire I Create seminars, with The Daily Street co-founder Alex Synamatix hosting a bunch of panel discussions that will inspire you to be creative instead of sitting inside watching Game of Thrones all day.

Whether it’s a Mix LabSeries curated by Scratcha DVA at CON Project London’s in-house recording studio, or a Journey Through LDN Sounds - a series of raves, screenings and talks celebrating underground music from the early Jungle pioneers to today’s scene heads - each week will celebrate various strands of urban creativity.

The CONS Project London begins on May 22 and runs until July 31. The full calendar and ticket registration for all May/June events is available here: conversecons.com/ldn
