Labels in Residence: Top Billin Made Us an Insane Megamix

The holiday season might be dunzo, but gluttony is forever. Sure, we'll miss the socially-sanctioned excuse to stuff ourselves with the kind of food we all love but also that makes us feel a little bit like we want to die… but the cold, bitter winds of January bring us other delights. Take this megamix that landed in my inbox this morning. When we asked the Helsinki label Top Billin to make us a second mix for our Labels in Residence series, they sort of disappeared for a while. We assumed it was because they, like everyone else, were cramming their pie holes with various salty meats and high-octane sugary desserts in celebration of Christ's birth or whatever.

But it turns out that label heads DJ Flipperi and Sir Nenis were also busy folding a veritable cornucopia of releases—45 of their best tracks from 2013, plus a couple extras bits—into a jumbo-sized, hour-and-21-minute romper. Blasting off with a priceless "reload!" the mix is packed tight with something foreveryone: jacking house from the Finnish duo Jack the Hustler, swaggering B'more Club from the king of Cherry Hill Murder Mark, heavy-hitting slices of trap from the eccentric Paul Oja, and even something from the dude behind our last mix, Sharkslayer.  If you've been sleeping on Top Billin's output of party-friendly club cuts, don't miss this.
