Drone art is no new creative field, but it's always interesting to see an artistic interpretation of a problematic topic, especially when made through do-it-yourself means. Theòry of knöwledge, a new photo series from Montreal-based photographer/art director, Benoit Paillé, explores the "decontextualization of a boring landscape" through use of a quadcopter. In Paillé's own words: "Quadcopter + duct tape = flying strobe," or a cunning homemade operation that strives to capture "a Homo erectus female in a metaphysical state of trance."Self-explanatory enough, the project includes an array of photos detailing abandoned structures in the middle of the night, as well as illuminated models who look like they've spotted a UFO (well, in a sense, they have…). Explore the dronescapes below, as well as some GIFs of the strobe-drone in action. This set up could make for an amazing popup rave.See more of Benoit Paillé's work at his website.
