A woman who was killed this week in a shooting outside a Toronto nightclub had reportedly been refused a ride by cabbies minutes before she was struck by gunfire.According to Franca Abate, who was with 26-year-old Ariela Navarro-Fenoy before she died steps from Drake's OVO Fest afterparty, several taxi drivers waiting in line outside Muzik nightclub wouldn't take their fare because their destination would come to only $8.And so when the pair couldn't get a ride, they headed to a parking lot close by. There are conflicting reports about whether gunfire erupted before or after they left the taxi queue. The Toronto Star reports that as they made their way to another friend's car to get home, one man pulled out a gun and started shooting. The next thing Abate knew, her friend was on the ground bleeding."They all refused us," Abate told the Toronto Star. "Had we gotten in a cab, this wouldn't have happened. We could have gotten home safely."Drake hasn't said a word about the shooting that also killed another person and injured three more. It's still unclear whether he was at the club at the time of the shooting. This is the second year in a row that people have been shot at the afterparty for Drake's OVO Fest, the rapper's annual concert in his hometown. The shooting last year injured two people.

Crime Stoppers Toronto, a group that takes anonymous tips to help solve crimes, took to Twitter to ask Drake if he would meet with them to help end gun violence in the city."Somebody must have known the intentions of individuals heading to the event with a firearm or knew of a plan or saw what they were about to do," Sean Sportun, vice-chair of Crime Stoppers, told reporters. "We need to make that change in the community, and we see Drake as a perfect partner for that."It's a violation of municipal bylaws for cab drivers in Toronto to deny service to anyone based on where they want to go.No arrests have been made, and police are continuing to search for two men suspected to be connected with the shooting.
