Tiki Disco DJ Mix

Andy Pry delivers hot disco-house jams for the Tiki Disco season opener.

It is almost time for the summer and when the weather actually starts getting nice in New York City one of the first thoughts that comes to any dance music lover's head is "Yes! it's almost time for TIKI DISCO!". This Sunday everyone's favorite outdoor dance party back and we are so ready for it's return! It's no secret that Andy Pry, LLoydski and Eli Escobar are some of New York's best DJs and anyone that argues with us about that is probably from some lame suburb somewhere where people actually think Pauly D is legit- so this a no brainer when it comes to fun. When these three started TIKI it was more of a small outdoor jam session that eventually lead to one of the most talked about parties in the city. One of the best things about it is they keep it simple with no big headliners, no guest list and no bullshit. They are too busy picking out the best summer soundtrack ever to deal with any of that.

Andy Pry on his party and the mix he made to help you get ready for it:

In the Spring of 2009 I approached Eli Escobar and LLoydski about doing a party in this outdoor space I had found. The space was in fact the backyard of A newish Brooklyn restaurant called Roberta's that would in time go on to win awards, global praise and crazy media attention. Almost concurrently as the restaurant grew, the party " TIKI DISCO " continued to expand its fan base too. The party had grown from friends and fellow DJs to a line hundreds of people long hoping they might get in. There is no cover , there is no real door policy, and we don't fly so called " famous " DJs in; all we ask is people to be respectful- but go crazy! Four years in the party has continued to expand, with added locations at Rockaway Beach and the massive Knockdown Center in Queens. In the lead up to our 2013 summer season I put this mix togetherwith some of the flavors of TIKI DISCO. Our musical guidelines have always been if its good, we'll play it . A bit of New , A bit of Classics and little of in-between make up the bulk of a TIKI DISCO set. Our tag line since forever has been "an all day event with music for people who like music for people" TIKI DISCO's 2013 season starts Memorial Day weekend and we hope you can join us this summer.
