NORTHMIX: Sean Roman

Muscular basslines and fresh, unreleased content propel this sixty minute mix.

Sean Roman has been stoking the fires of his international relevancy since at least 2010. With releases on Bunny Tiger, Jeudi, and Strictly Rhythm, it's safe to say that his sound has been heard worldwide. In 2014, Sean's touring schedule gave further credence to that fact, as dates stretched from Tokyo, Paris, London, Sydney and Vancouver.

In this Northmix, Sean flexes in his comfort zone: muscular basslines, familiar samples and a few dreamy soundscapes underpin all sixty-four minutes of the mix. A little more than halfway through, the vibe peeks with a tune from Sean and Ali Black―the unreleased "U Get So High" sounds like it's gearing up to grace dancefloors in the near future. Sean will release that tune and others on labels like Sleazy Deep, Dialtone, and Kevin Saunderson's KMS Records throughout this year. In the meantime, he'll be working on Altus Project, a new collaborative effort with Lee M Kelsall and Thee Cool Cats.

You can catch Sean in Toronto at the Thomson Hotel's new club Wildflower on January 16th.
