Walden's "Airodime" Soars

Out of the woods and up in the sky.

Sure, you might ascend to some form of transcendental bliss while listening to his tunes, but Sydney's rising star Walden is not channeling Henry David Thoreau. In fact, when it comes to his new single, "Airodime," Walden kept the navel-gazing to a minimum.

"It's one of those special records that didn't need too much thinking," he tells THUMP. "The idea just sort of came naturally and quickly."

The track is six minutes of swelling prog-house energy and makes it easy to see how at only 18, Walden has a healthy dose of buzz around him. Signed to Big Beat last year (home to Knife Party, David Guetta, and Skrillex), Walden's already gotten support from the likes of Pete Tong and Tiësto, both of whom have been DJing since before he was born.

Even if this Walden was to wander off into the woods for a few months, chances are that he'd have a steady stream of A-list DJs stopping by his cabin to score dubplates. I guess he'd have to figure out how to produce without electricity, though. Hmmm…
