Rat & Co and Planète Offer some Essential LUCIANBLOMKAMP Remixes

Melbourne's Lucian Blomkamp is someone I've kept a close watch on since stumbling upon his self-titled EP. We premiered the video for his single "Help Me Out" back in July, which went on to be nominated for an AIR Award, and helped him take out the top spot, winning FBi Radio's Northern Lights competition to play Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik.

In two short years he's gone on to release his debut album Post Nature, (reaching #16 on the iTunes Australian Electronic Chart), sold out an album launch, and remixed Seekae's "The Stars Below". He's also played a string of Australian festival dates, supported xxyyxx, Com Truise, Pantha Du Prince and played to crowds in London. Not bad for a 21 year old.

Today THUMP has the pleasure of premiering the Post Nature Remixes, with Planète and Rat & Co as the masterminds behind, reworking Blomkamp's remarkably unique style into two stellar pieces.

Planète takes "Saudade" into the depths of space with a hauntingly beautiful twist that takes hold from the get go, while Rat & Co cull down "Help Me Out" to a simple instrumental hip hop beat and an intriguingly treated vocal. It's engaging and stunning, and a mystery how they do it.
