Chris Lake Went to UMF Korea, And We've Got His Photo Diary

Tag along with the Scottish star as he does his thang in in Asia.

There's a whole 251 days left till Ultra 2015 begins—unless you're heading to one of the festival's many incarnations abroad. Although Ultra's most famous blowout happens in Miami in March, the party pops up throughout the year in places like Ibiza, Chile, Buenos Aires, Japan, and South Africa. The Korean installment, which took place last month, featured sets from the likes of Above & Beyond, M.I.A., and Scottish DJ Chris Lake, an alumnus of Ultra's record label. Gutted that we couldn't attend the festivities ourselves, we begged Lake to take a camera with him and keep us posted on his adventures. What we got in return was a whirlwind tour through the life of a touring EDM superstar—Lake snapped shots of his run-ins with other celebrity spinners, Korean fashion, and his nifty "ozonator," which apparently keeps him germ-free on long flights. We only wish we had gotten a photo of Mr. Lake in an Asian bathtub.

We go back many years and have lots to catch up on. 20 hours later, we're coming into land in Korea.  If you're wondering what that is round my neck, it's this little ozonator thing that keeps germs away on the plane.  It seems to work and stops me getting sick on flights. Heading to immigration in Korea.  I feel awkward as I'm roughly 1ft taller than everyone around me. You should see me in the bath tubs in Asia #fail. I don't know why I took this. Maybe I was impressed with the cut of their suit, or their obedience of the Korean traffic rules. Pretty damn good looking airport! Very futuristic and bold. Balancing on one leg, maybe. Messaging Mrs. Lake to say hello. Got to the event early. Took a look at one of the local DJ's playing some beats on the main stage. Sick stadium. Possibly the weirdest stage setup I've seen.  Must be sponsored by Fiat, and most of the production seems to revolve around some of their cars suspended at impossible angles. When I checked into this hotel in Taiwan, I'll be honest, I got out of the elevator, saw this sign, and was convinced I was staying in a brothel. Kaohsiung, Taiwan, 68 stories up.
